OBEDIAH M GARRISON
BORN
July 25, 1794
DIED
Aug 20, 1866
Jack Warren Garrison (#44767) provided these photos which
were taken by Ellie Johnson.  She wrote him that:
Obediah's
grave stone had been pushed over by the cows that roam on the
hillside. When I  found out where the cemetery was I wrote to a
cousin in Putnam Co., Tenn. She and her husband went down to
Liberty and searched till they found the cemetery. They found
Elizabeth C. Garrison's stone but couldn't locate Obediah's until
they were about to leave. He stumbled on the edge of the stone
that was covered with dirt. They uncovered it and it was perfectly
preserved. I am grateful for the pictures as I understand that
"someone" has stolen the stone from that resting place about
1986. That's sad but at least we have the picture and the
information.

The cemetery is near Liberty, Tennessee.  These were Jack’s g-
g-g-grandparents.  They were also ancestors of William Earl
Garrison (#47792).

If I may add a touch of levity to this most serious subject, let me mention that often people look at old photos (not necessarily
Garr*sons) and say, or write, "they must be related.  Look how similar the ears are."  I call your attention to the collage above.  DNA
proves that each of us was the son of our reported father, yet notice how different are the ears of my grandfather (in the middle) and
those of his father (second from the left).  Granddad's mother was a Smith and big ears run in that family.  - C Calder Garrason
